With over 45 years of experience in the sector, and a dedicated team of 30 employees, Transport Paris International (TPI) offer a bespoke and tailor-made service to their clients. Carrying their founders’ values, the team at TPI utilise their extensive industry knowledge to direct the execution of specific needs and requirements.
Our Sheffield based Project Forwarding division have supported Transport Paris International with specialist out-of-gauge logistics services. Their latest project was to assist TPI with completing import customs clearance and the transportation of Electric Baggage Tractors arriving by sea from China to the UK. This shipment of specialist tractors travelled nearly 10,000km across the equator which required meticulous planning with scheduled multimodal deliveries, something which DGL successfully coordinated.
The 10 tractors were loaded and shipped in 3 standard containers by the supplier entrusting DGLs capabilities in safe handling, devanning and delivering their precious cargo to the end receiver in UK. Whilst this was a tight load, DGL successfully managed to devan these units from containers and delivered to the final site in LHR in the same conditions as they left their manufacturing site at origin.
The industry knowledge and experience of DGL’s team enabled TPI and their clients’ needs to be met throughout the entire shipment process and throughout the UK leg of the transit, the team frequently communicated with TPI, providing regular updates, ensuring that they were aware at each stage that timeframes and cost-efficiencies were being met and adhered to.
