Opportunity to join the Internal Sales Team within the Retail side of the business.
As our business continues to grow, it is vital we further enhance our commercial capabilities to support our customer base which continues to expand with a significant number of clients interacting on a more transactional basis. The internal sales team will proactively and dynamically target growth of activity with these customers. Tracking booking patterns, identifying and reaching out to any missing customers, producing quotations in a timely manner across all modes including follow up and negotiation to secure the job.
You will also receive new enquires that will need to be actioned and quantified.
All sales records and quotes will be created in Cargowise via CRM and quotation modules.
The focus will be on direct importers & Exporters, and dealing with all front end commercials, before passing over to the operational teams to execute the job in line with your quotation.
Working with the Internal & National Sales team, procurement and marketing department, this is seen as a key area for growth within the combined business of Denholm Good Logistics.
KPI’s will be measured around contacts made and records saved into our CRM along with quote numbers converted to jobs and the associated Gross Profit made. This is a fast-paced environment with a proactive approach needed to maximise the opportunities available.
The Day-to-Day
The main responsibilities include:
- Receiving sales enquiries from new & existing Retail clients in the UK via, phone, email & web enquiries.
- Accurate data entry into Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System.
- Quote generation within CW1 & pro-active follow up process.
- Ownership and analysis of booking patterns, with proactive outreach where needed.
- Identifying opportunities to upsell additional trade lanes and services.
- Maximise margin opportunity.
- Back up support to offices to assist with client’s rate requests.
- Undertaking all duties with reference to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) procedures and work instructions.
The Person
Essential skills needed for this role include:
- Good communication skills
- Must be enthusiastic, upbeat, pro-active and possess a can-do attitude.
- Work independently and within a team
- Ideally experience within Freight Forwarding and logistics
- Previous commercial experience is not essential if experience within Freight Forwarding
- Good time management
- Attention to detail and organisation

- Working hours: Full time 37.5 (start and finish times negotiable)
