Role
The role itself will report directly into Kirsty Boulton HR Lead for Denholm UK Logistics (DUL). As HR Advisor you will assist the HR lead for DUL on all HR related matters delivering professional, pragmatic, and commercially focused HR advice and guidance to line managers. You will also assist the HR lead for Denholm Good Logistics (DGL) on people matters and assist the Head of HR and HR leads on key projects across the logistics division. This role will require you to really understand how our management teams and colleagues’ work, ensuring they have all the tools they need to be able to operate in the best way possible. There will also be an opportunity to assist the HR team with projects across the division.
Our logistics division as a whole across the UK and Ireland consists of 800 plus people.
You will work with managers and supervisors across the operations as well as providing advice and guidance to employees.
The Day-to-Day
- Provide timely and effective advice on employee relations matters, ensuring company policies are applied consistently.
- Coach and advise managers on HR policies and procedures, building knowledge and capability to handle people issues confidently.
- Support employees and managers through ER procedures, handling cases proactively to achieve timely resolution.
- Manage formal ER cases, ensuring they are recorded, tracked and resolved within required timescales.
- Conduct exit interviews and escalate feedback and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the Head of HR seeking guidance and approval in line with company policy.
- Working alongside both HR leads to assist and be actively involved with the design and delivery of training on key employee relations topics to increase line manager capability.
- Asist with all UK recruitment activity ensuring managers have all the key information for interview and ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed.
- Assist the HR leads with absence management.
- Assist with the production of key HR statistics.
- Oversee onboarding on new starters
- Support and guide managers on Perform and elevate
AEO
All duties to be undertaken with reference to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) procedures and work instructions.
The Person
- Minimum 2 years experience.
- Excellent I.T skills
- Someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to create good strong working relationships with operational managers and employees.
- A compassionate and people focused individual.
- CIPD qualified level 5 with 2 years plus experience
- You will be forward thinking, innovative, solution focused and resilient.
- You will be confident working autonomously using your own initiative and prioritising, whilst recognising the value and importance of collaborative working and being a good team player.
- Willingness to travel and work from other sites is essential.
- Experience of restructuring, TUPE and change management beneficial but not essential.
- Team player.
