European Container Operations Coordinator

Location: Plymouth

Role

Working within the freight forwarding division of 3PL provider Denholm Good Logistics, as part of a team dealing predominantly with import shipments to UK from across Europe, predominantly Spain, Italy & Portugal.

The role will form part of the European Container Operations team within Denholm Logistics, Plymouth

The Day-to-Day

  • Carry out booking procedures accurately, with a ‘right first time’ attitude, to ensure customers receive a high-quality service.
  • Handling of Import processes and have confidence to offer guidance to clients accordingly.
  • Where appropriate, collect payment from clients without credit terms in place.
  • Obtaining, checking, and preparing documentation to meet customs requirements.
  • Selecting suitable suppliers ensuring that price and service are appropriate to our customers’ requirements.
  • Negotiating rates and providing client quotations.
  • Helping to continue to develop our European Centre of Excellence within the business.
  • All duties to be undertaken with reference to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) procedures and work instructions.

  • All duties to be undertaken with reference to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) procedures and work instructions.

The Person

  • Previous experience within an Import Forwarding role, preferably including European experience.
  • IT literacy with a good working knowledge of a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Adaptable to new working practices and embracing of Company Operating Systems and procedures.
  • Confident communicator with good organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience of Cargowise One (CW1) preferred.
