Sea freight transit times are similar to those currently specified for road freight. Goods can travel from port to port in around 8–9 days and door to door in 14–16 days.

 

Which UK port will shipments arrive at?

Our own weekly direct container groupage service from Istanbul and Izmir arrives at the Port of Felixstowe, thereby avoiding the anticipated congestion at Dover.

 

I don’t have enough to fill a container, can I still use your Turkey sea freight service?

With our LCL service, you won’t have to fill an entire container; you can share a container with our other customers, making shipping by sea a much more affordable option. We are the only logistics company offering this weekly container groupage service from Turkey. As soon as it arrives, the LCL cargo is unloaded as a priority at our warehouse in Felixstowe for urgent onward delivery in the UK.

 

Do you offer FCL services from Turkey?

Yes. We offer weekly full container load (FCL) services to and from all the major Turkish ports.

 

What is the most cost-effective way of shipping from Turkey?

Considering the current economic climate, the best way to get goods from Turkey to the UK is by sea freight or air freight. Sea freight is usually the more cost-effective option, but please bear in mind that it will take longer. Air freight is faster by comparison but of course it is a little bit more expensive. Our weekly sea freight services from Istanbul and Izmir provide a quick transit time of around eight days. Unless you are in a hurry, importing from Turkey by sea should be able to fulfil most of your needs. Moreover, it provides an excellent alternative to road transport and delivers significant reductions in freight costs.

 

Which part of Turkey do you provide consolidation services from and how often?

We provide consolidation services from Istanbul and Izmir every week. We are particularly proud of this offering because it is the only direct LCL service to the UK from Turkey by sea.

 

What is the difference between a commodity code and an EORI number?

When importing goods from Turkey, you will need both the commodity code and an EORI number. A commodity code is required to classify goods for import and export. You can find the correct commodity code by visiting this government website. Meanwhile, an EORI number is issued by HMRC. The UK customs authorities use the commodity code to identify the goods you want to import/export and the EORI number to identify your business.
