The John Good Group celebrated its 180th anniversary recently by hosting a special dinner at the Hallmark Hotel in North Ferriby.
In addition to management teams and staff members from across the John Good Group, the event was attended by a large number of representatives from the company’s customers and suppliers.
Group Managing Director, Alan Platt, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to have been such an integral part of the region’s business community for so long. For generations, members of the Good family have built a strong, sustainable business by adapting to the changing times, whilst never compromising on the principles the original company was founded on.
“Over the past few years, we’ve been able to build successfully on these foundations, and today, the business is going from strength to strength. Looking ahead, we’ll continue our policy of sustainable expansion, to further cement our position as one of the UK’s leading providers of shipping & logistics, warehousing & distribution and corporate travel services.”
The business was founded in 1833 as John Good & Co, a Ship Chandlers, Agents and Brokers based at small premises in Salthouse Lane in Hull. Today, the John Good Group of companies employs over 250 people at 14 different sites across the UK and in Turkey.
