Denholm Good Logistics (DGL) has strengthened its presence in Scotland with the appointment of Paul McGrattan as Commercial Manager.

Paul brings more than 30 years of experience across international freight forwarding, business development, sea freight, trade lane development and strategic procurement.

His career includes senior commercial and leadership positions with Kintetsu World Express, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and DB Schenker, giving him extensive experience across international supply chains and the Scottish logistics market.

Scotland is an important market for DGL and Paul’s appointment supports DGLs’ ambition to further develop its presence across Scotland, strengthening relationships with businesses across the region and identifying new opportunities to support customers with their logistics and supply chain requirements.

Strengthening our Scottish footprint

As part of this commitment, DGL has also opened a dedicated office in Blantyre from today. This new base will provide a stronger local presence from which to develop customer relationships, support existing and new business, and build DGL’s profile across Scotland.

Paul will oversee the development of the Scottish operation, with responsibility for helping establish the office and growing its presence over time. His experience will complement DGL’s wider capabilities across freight forwarding, supply chain management, customs, warehousing, distribution and project logistics.

Creating opportunities across the wider Denholm Group

With specialist businesses operating across logistics and maritime services, seafoods and industrial services, the Group provides critical services and expertise to customers across the UK and Ireland. The regional appointment and new office will also support the Denholm Group’s continued focus on delivering greater value for customers and creates an exciting opportunity to work more closely with businesses across the wider Denholm Group in Scotland.

Tom Reid, Retail Sales Director at Denholm Good Logistics, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Paul to DGL. His depth of experience across international freight forwarding, together with his strong knowledge and network within the Scottish market, makes him a great addition to the team.

“Strengthening our presence in Scotland is an important part of our commercial growth plans. Establishing our DGL office in Blantyre gives us a strong local base from which to develop that presence, and Paul will play an important role in overseeing and growing the operation.

“We’re looking forward to seeing Paul develop those relationships and help us build on the strong foundations we already have across Scotland.”

Paul McGrattan, Commercial Manager, added:

“I’m really pleased to be joining DGL at an exciting time for the business. Scotland has a strong and diverse business community, and I’m looking forward to building relationships with customers and partners across the region.

“The establishment of the DGL office in Blantyre gives us an exciting opportunity to build a strong local presence and develop a base from which we can grow our customer relationships and wider commercial activity across Scotland.”
