The John Good Group has been identified as one of London Stock Exchange’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain. The report is a celebration of the UK’s fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses.
To be included in the list, companies needed to show consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years, significantly outperforming their industry peers. More detail on the methodology can be found in the report online at https://www.lseg.com/resources/1000-companies-inspire.
The Group, based in East Yorkshire, was originally founded in Hull in 1833 by the original John Good as a ship’s chandler. The Company remains in the hands of the Good family and offers a wide range of services in the Shipping & Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution and Corporate & Leisure Travel industries.
John Good Group’s Managing Director, Alan Platt, said: “Our inclusion in this list follows a number of recent awards and nominations which recognise our success and sustained growth over a number of years. To be included in this list is probably the most prestigious of them all and I’m delighted that the John Good Group has been recognised as one of the leading SME’s in the country.
“In the very competitive markets of Shipping &Logistics, Warehousing and Corporate Travel, we have managed to maintain strong growth in all areas of our business as we continue to achieve our ambitious financial targets year on year.
“All of the John Good Group’s subsidiary companies are service led organisations, therefore this demonstrates the dedication and commitment of our staff to be able to provide the highest levels of service to our customers in order to remain ahead of the competition – without them, we simply wouldn’t have the business we have today.”
Xavier Rolet, Chief Executive, London Stock Exchange Group said: “This report is a significant part of London Stock Exchange’s broader campaign to support UK high growth companies in their journeys from Start-up to Stardom and to create an entrepreneurship revolution. I’m delighted that a strong alliance between UK Government, financial market participants, investors, entrepreneurs and companies has been created to support these inspiring businesses.”
